At the end everything starts to fall into place, as usual with Shakespeare and the complicated plot is resolved in a happy ending: Cymbeline makes a speech to the gods and declares peace and friendship between Britain and Rome: "Never was a war did cease, Ere bloody hands were washed, with such a peace."
