Festival pops up here, there, everywhere!
Shakespeare Festival - USA
This is a list of the major Shakespeare Fetivals in the
U.S.A. It's certainly not complete. but it gives a good
overview over the multitude of festivals for the Bard that
happen every year!
- Actors' Theatre of
Columbus - With
Shakespeare as their focus, the ATC provides outdoor
theatre performances in the Shiller Park.
- Alabama Shakespeare
Festival - The
Alabama Shakespeare Festival, located in Montgomery is
the sixth largest Shakespeare festival in the world and
attracts more than 300,000 annual visitors.
- Arizona Classical
Theatre - Home to the
Arizona Shakespeare Festival & The World's Greatest
Shakespeare Company
- Austin Shakespeare
Festival - Austin
Shakespeare is 2009 in its 24th year of presenting free
Shakespeare performances in Zilker Park. On the program
this year: Romeo y Julieta.
- Baltimore Shakespeare
Festival - present
Shakespeare productions outdoors each summer in the
Meadow at the Evergreen Museum and Library. The
Baltimore Shakespeare Festival also produces three plays
each season at its indoor home at St.
Mary's.

The Red Heel Theatre in 1989, initially focusing on
classic works of English theatre. In 1996 the
company's efforts focused on the works of

Festival - Each
summer, the company produces the Richmond Shakespeare
Festival at 500 year-old Agecroft Hall, a tudor estate
home that stood in England during Shakespeare's
lifetime. It was moved across the Atlantic to Richmond,
Virginia in the 1920's.

- The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival began in 1983,
with Free Shakespeare in the Park's debut production of
The Tempest in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco,
California.

Shady Shakespeare was founded in 1999 and holds
performances at Sanborn-Skyline County Park outside of
Saratoga, CA

- Redondo Beach, CA
- Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS) was launched in 1998. It
